A Short Introduction to the Photo Arts Group—PAG

The PhotoArts Group (PAG) has made a name for itself in San Diego County's art scene since 2003 when it was created by a handful of professional and amateur photographers under the umbrella of the Escondido Arts Partnership. The artists’ early focus was to promote, display, and refine their work. While this is still their main emphasis, PAG’s interests have expanded to include mentoring aspiring artists, networking with other photography groups, and promoting photographic arts throughout San Diego County.

During its fifteen years, PAG has firmly established itself in the San Diego art scene by its regular participation in a large number of exhibitions. Some of these venues include Gallery 21 in Spanish Village at Balboa Park, the Poway Center for the Performing Arts, the Village Gallery in La Jolla, the Wellness Center in Vista, the Archives of Escondido Gallery, the Rancho Peñasquitos Library, the Vista Public Library, the Encinitas Community Library, and ArtWalk in Little Italy. Our home gallery—InnerSpace—features a new photography show each month.

PAG members include established professionals, serious amateurs, and emerging artists from throughout the county. Their photography comprises a wide variety of styles and media ranging from traditional film, to old and new alternative processes, to cutting- edge digital images.

To become a member of PAG is easy: just attend a PAG meeting on the second Tuesday of the month from 7pm to 9pm at the Escondido Arts Partnership Gallery, 262 E. Grand Avenue, Escondido, CA 92025 and sign up. The only costs are minimal hanging fees of approximately $20 to exhibit in PAG shows at various venues. The hanging fees cover the cost of producing exhibitions and managing the PAG InnerSpace Gallery. If you choose to show at the PAG InnerSpace Gallery, you must also join the Escondido Arts Partnership, whose annual dues are $50.

Again, PAG meets every second Tuesday, from 7pm to 9pm, at the Escondido Arts Partnership Gallery, 262 E. Grand Ave., Escondido, CA 92025.
